Mayan Trail

“The Maya civilization, a powerful Mesoamerican indigenous group, once occupied much of present-day Central America. This Pre-Columbian civilization was concentrated in a geographic area that includes present-day Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, Guatemala, Belize, Honduras and El Salvador. The Maya Trail, or "Ruta Maya"  was established in 1993 as a tourist trail, stretches for about 1,500 miles, spans five countries and includes towering ceremonial pyramids, sprawling squares and sophisticated observatories.
